$200 Million Casino Breaks Ground

The Quapaw Tribe has broken ground on the Downstream Casino Resort, a $200 million project that will include a 12-story, 226-room hotel, a casino, restaurants, shops and 8,800-SF meeting facility.
The tribe has also announced that the resort will feature a 36-hole golf course, through a partnership with Joplin’s Loma Linda Country Club, an outdoor swimming pool with a 10,000-SF deck, a variety of luxury suites and a VIP Lounge.
The casino floor will contain 2,000 slot machines, 30 table games, 15 poker tables, and a high stakes area.
Construction of Phase I – the casino, hotel, restaurants, shopping space, conference center and swimming pool with space designated later for the spa – will begin immediately. Manhattan Construction Co. of Tulsa will serve as the general contractors for the project.
The resort will be located at the three—states corner near Interstate 44 and will open next summer.
