AEP’s Ranking Dips Slightly

The American Electric Power Co. Inc. rating in customer service dipped 2.7 percent compared to last year, according to a University of Michigan study ranking the nation’s utilities on how well they satisfy their customers.
The report is the latest from the Washington, D.C.-based American Customer Satisfaction Index.
It rates electric and gas utilities on a 100-point scale. It will also rate utility industry overall, and show how utilities compare to each other in terms of customer satisfaction.
AEP, the parent company of Tulsa-based Public Service Company of Oklahoma, earned a 73 on the 100-point scale, down from 75.7 a year ago.
Energy utilities overall improved 1.4 percent in year-over-year comparison.
The biggest gain came from National Grid Transco and NiSource, which improved 9.2 and 9.1 percent respectively. The biggest drop was seen by Ameren Corp., which fell 23 percent. ?
