American Airlines to Build $10 Million Hanger

Construction will in August on an 80,000-SF, $10-million American Airlines hanger, the first new aircraft maintenance hangar to be built at Tulsa International Airport in more than two decades.
Numerous local officials and representatives of the Texas-based American Airlines held a ceremonial groundbreaking on July 10. The facility will be built with $5.7 million of state funds and $4.3 million in local money.
The airline, which employs 7,000 in Tulsa, is the largest private employer in Oklahoma. The Tulsa Maintenance & Engineering Center is the largest aircraft maintenance base in the world.
