The renovation of another downtown apartment building shows that old Tulsa might return to a bit of its former glory.
The Breckenridge Lofts, an apartment complex at 215 W. Fairview, is currently undergoing renovations and will soon be complete, according to Lisa Grimes of Accent Realtors.
The four-story building, which is owned by Tulsa physician Michael Newnam, was built in 1930 and includes 23 units, 16 two-bedroom and seven with one-bedroom.
The historic site has gone through several remodelings and served as Section 8 housing as recently as the 1990s.
The units will range in size from 406- SF one-bedroom apartments to 761-SF two-bedroom lofts and are receiving new hardwood, carpet, cabinets and interior paint.
The building will be getting a refurbished commons area, new landscaping and outdoor lighting.
According to Grimes, the building management company, Accent, hopes to fill the building with young professionals and people who earn their livelihood at the BOK Center, which is only a short walk away.
