Broken Arrow City officials have announced a construction schedule for the Broken Arrow Fire Department Station 6 set to be built in a vacant lot south of Nienhuis Park.
According to Keith Sterling, the city’s communications director, advertising for bids will begin on May 9 and the contract will be awarded on May 21. Construction on the structure is expected to last 220 days and be completed in late 2007 or early 2008.
The station will house five equipment bays and up to 14 firefighters per shift. Current stations have two or four bays and house five to 10 firefighters per shift. BKL Architects designed the structure.
