The first meeting of the Broken Arrow Development Authority had a large audience Wednesday.
Several dozen residents and property owners of the Camino Villa mobile home community attended to follow the process they believe will result in the condemnation of their properties which were declared blighted by the city council in January.
The city plans to build a road connecting new retail development in north-central Broken Arrow with emerging development at Northeast Crossroads, under construction at the Creek Turnpike and Kenosha Street.
Camino Villa is located in the path of that roadway, and at least some properties there are needed for its construction, the city says. The roadway and expected development are included in the East Side Development Study.
