Bertelsmeyer Donates $500,000 to Tulsa Planetarium

James Bertelsmeyer, retired CEO and founder of Heritage Propane, has donated $500,000 toward funding the Tulsa Air and Space Museum’s new planetarium.

The 110-seat planetarium, open since May 2006 has been named the James E. Bertelsmeyer Planetarium in honor of his commitment to the organization’s educational efforts. The planetarium construction was partially funded by Vision 2025 funds, with the remaining coming from foundations, corporations, and private donors.

The planetarium is adjacent to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum, just off 36th Street North, across from the Tulsa Zoo.
