Brad Williams Named State Deputy Secretary of Energy

Oklahoma Secretary of Energy Robert Wegener names Brad Williams Deputy Secretary of Energy.
Williams serves as the liaison between the governor’s office and a number of regulatory and trade associations for the oil and gas, electricity, and alternative energy industries including: the Department of Environmental Quality, the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, and the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association.
Additionally, he monitors and collaborates on legislation at the state and federal level related to natural resource exploration, taxation, and environmental regulation.
Williams brings experience to the Department of Energy from his practice of law in Oklahoma City where he specialized in oil and gas. He represented energy companies on a regional, national and international level ranging from environmental and mass toxic torts to large federal and state class actions.
Williams is a member of the Oklahoma and Texas Bar, the American Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association and is a volunteer at Oklahoma Lawyers for Children.
The Office of the Secretary of Energy, represents and advises Governor Brad Henry on energy issues.
