Broken Arrow Historical Society Gains Museum Site

The transfer of property from Arkansas Valley State Bank to the City of Broken Arrow has been approved by the Broken Arrow City Council.
The property, which consists of three lots in the 400 block of South Main Street, will serve as the site of a future Broken Arrow Historical Society Museum.
The city has until March 2009 to substantially complete the building on the donated land or possession of the property reverts back to the bank.
Funding for the museum is being provided by general obligation bonds of $1.5 million that were approved by voters in 2004, and by $200,000 from Vision 2025 for downtown revitalization.
