Broken Arrow to Build $17.5 Million YMCA

Plans to build a $17.5 million YMCA in Broken Arrow are moving ahead.
The facility, which will be paid for with revenue bonds, will be 21,000 SF at 8501 S. Garnett Road.
According to Broken Arrow City Manager Jim Twombly, a hearing on the construction that was held on Nov. 6 was a “formality” and the project had already been approved by the city.
“They are borrowing money through the Tulsa Industrial Authority and so there is a public hearing related to the issuance of the debt. It’s kind of a formality because they are out of their jurisdiction and it’s all tied up in state and bond issuance law.”
The City of Broken Arrow is not borrowing any money and has no stake in the debt for the YMCA.
