The Brasserie Restaurant & Bar will soon be the newest addition to Brookside and add nearly 25 jobs to Tulsa’s popular dining, entertainment and retail district.
Locally owned and operated by Tim Baker, The Brasserie will offer French-inspired cuisine in a stylish and inviting environment, open all day and late into the night. The restaurant is set to open in late October. Justin Thompson, formerly of Ciao, Baby!, will be the executive chef. Baker previously served as operating partner for Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.
The Brasserie will open at 3509 S. Peoria Ave. in 3,200 square feet of remodeled space that formally housed Monte’s Chop House and Montrachet Wine Bar and Bistro. Baker describes the interior as warm and welcoming with a modern twist.
“We’ve made a substantial investment in the remodeling of this favorite Brookside location and are excited about the interior design plans prepared for us by Mary Jo and Dale Gillman,” he said.
Guests of The Brasserie will choose from a variety of classic French dishes such as steak frites with bearnaise, duck confit, cote de boeuf, grilled brook trout, rotisserie chicken, sautéed skate, cassoulet and organic salmon en croute.
“The brasserie concept creates one of the most comfortable and socially inviting restaurants in existence,” explained Baker. “The food touches your soul.”
Additional menu highlights will include fresh escargot and an eclectic selection of tartes flambees, also known as “Alsatian Pizzas,” along with house-cured meats and handmade sausages and signature sauerkraut.
The Brasserie also will feature 70 wines by the glass with an additional 30 to 50 wines available only by the bottle on the reserve list. Full bar service will be available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
“The wines are unpretentious, inexpensive and strikingly good. It’s a new style for Tulsa and it’s going to be a wonderful complement to Brookside,” added Baker.
