Calling All Over-Achievers

Any Tulsan who wants a networking experience that could lead directly to the corner office should start making calls to mentors and references.
Leadership Tulsa Class 41 applications are now being accepted.
Leadership Tulsa serves Metro area adults from diverse professions and backgrounds that have an interest in and commitment to providing community leadership.
Participants – a list of which reads like a who’s who among Tulsa people – meet monthly to explore community needs, develop leadership skills and meet with community leaders. They also participate in a non-profit board internship.
“Leaders are one of the most important resources in a community, and we want to help identify and develop new community leaders and give them the tools they need to make a difference,” said Wendy Thomas, executive director of Leadership Tulsa.
Since 1973, more than 1,700 people have graduated from Leadership Tulsa. The selection process is competitive as class size is limited to 45 members, and new classes start every six months.
The deadline to apply for Class 41 is September 30. Tuition is $2,250 and can be paid by the individual, employer or agency. Scholarships are available.
A free, informational breakfast on Leadership Tulsa will be held August 20 at OSU-Tulsa in the B.S. Roberts Room 7:45 a.m.-9:00 a.m. Reservations are required. To sign up to attend the breakfast, e-mail nancy@leadershiptulsa.org.
