Carment First RSU O.D. Mayor Endowed Chair

Rogers State University has named Dr. Thomas Carment as the O.D. Mayor Endowed Professor of Business at Rogers State University in Pryor.
Carment is the first faculty member to be named as an endowed faculty chair holder on the Pryor campus.
“This is a significant achievement not only for the RSU Pryor campus, but for the Pryor community,” said RSU President Dr. Larry Rice. “Dr. Carment will be a resource for not only students, but will help advance business and industry in the Pryor area.”
The O.D. Mayor Endowed Chair was funded with a $250,000 gift from the O.D. Mayor Foundation and funds were matched by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s Endowment Trust Fund.
Carment has published articles in The Journal of Accounting Case Research, The Pennsylvania Economic Journal, Journal of Government Financial Management, and the Mid Atlantic Journal of Business.
C&W Attorney Named Tulsa Best Corporate Lawyer OTY
Robert A. Curry, a partner in the Tulsa office of Conner & Winters, LLP, has been named “Tulsa Best Lawyers Corporate Lawyer of the Year” for 2009 by Best Lawyers.
Best Lawyers is one of the oldest and most respected peer-review publications in the legal profession.
For more than 30 years, Curry has practiced in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and LLC matters, financing transactions, securities transactions and advice. He’s served for seven years as president of C&W and now as chairman.
Walls Named Manager Of Woodland Hills Mall
Simon Property Group, Inc. has appointed Brian Walls as mall manager of Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa.
The position of mall manager includes managing all day-to-day operations, maintenance and tenant relations. Additionally, Walls will oversee the security and marketing of the centers.
Walls’ history with Simon includes holding the positions of mall manager and assistant mall manager at various properties in Indiana. Walls originally started with Simon as a litigation paralegal in Simon’s home office.
Walls graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.

Coordinator Named
The Holmes Organisation, a Tulsa-based independent insurance agency, has named Derek Keaton Duncan client relations manager. He brings more than a decade of executive commercial banking experience to his position.
The Holmes Organisation also announced the addition of Eric Moon to serve as its health and wellness coordinator.
As client relations manager, Duncan is responsible for the relationship development and retention of Holmes’ commercial and business property and casualty clientele, specializing in unique risk management services. Prior to joining The Holmes Organisation, Duncan served as the senior vice president, director of business and professional banking at Regent Bank & Trust.
In 2007, Duncan was listed as one of Tulsa Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and is an active member of the American Marketing Association and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Moon brings more than a decade of health and fitness background to his new position. He previously was the principal of Wellness Works Consulting, where he assisted insurance providers with wellness-related sales and analysis.
In his new role at Holmes, Moon is responsible for developing and instituting dynamic and multi-faceted wellness programs to encourage and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
Moon is working toward his master’s degree in human development from St. Mary’s University-Minnesota.
Aydelott Named FOX23 News Chief Meteorologist
Tulsa native James Aydelott has been named chief meteorologist for FOX23 News.
After graduating from Tulsa’s East Central High School, Aydelott graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in meteorology. He has worked in Sherman, Texas; Savannah, Ga; Wichita; Dallas; and Tulsa, seeing and forecasting everything from tornadoes to hurricanes to blizzards. He has years of tornado chasing experience and is a severe weather and Doppler radar expert. For 10 years, Aydelott worked at KOTV in Tulsa with Jim Giles.
Aydelott has been awarded two Emmys for his spring severe weather specials and has the seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Rich & Cartmill Names Selman Vice President, Shareholder
Rich & Cartmill has named Scott Selman vice president and shareholder.
He joined the company in 2002 following his graduation from University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of business administration in finance with highest honors. At 29, he is the youngest shareholder at Rich & Cartmill.
Selman is a commercial insurance agent and will serve in a managerial role for the company working on mergers with existing agencies and agents around the country.
He is a member of Independents Insurance Agents, Rotary Club of Tulsa with particular involvement in Adopt-a-School and International Youth Exchange for high school students.

WTI Hires Megan Coker as Financial Aid Administrator
Megan Coker has joined WTI Tulsa as financial aid administrator.
Coker’s role includes assessing financial aid opportunities for students, and assisting them in the application process. Six years in various student service roles at the University of Tulsa and Independence Community College have prepared her for financial aid administration. Coker has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee and most recently worked as activity director for The Parke Assisted Living in Tulsa.
