Cherokee Making Good on Expansion

Officials at Cherokee Casino Resort are making arrangements to more than double their space at 777 W. Cherokee St. in Catoosa.
Cherokee Casino Resort is adding a $125 million, 21-story hotel tower that will include 337,000 SF of space for 750 new electronic games and more restaurants and convention space. The expansion is slated for completion in late 2008.
Portions of the roadway on Cherokee Casino Resort property will be closed effective July 23 to complete the south loop road extension and begin expansion of Cherokee Casino Resort.
Road closure will begin at the intersection of Timbercrest and Cherokee Streets south of the casino, extending along Cherokee Street west of the hotel tower. Timbercrest is the first street north of I-44, between McDonald’s and a former convenience store purchased by Cherokee Nation Enterprises.
This closure will last for an undetermined amount of time.
Ample parking will still be available, as the new 507,000-SF, $16 million parking garage with space for 1,400 vehicles built to support the casino expansion is now open.
Cherokee Casino Resort, owned and operated by Cherokee Nation Enterprises, accommodates between 65,000 and 70,000 visitors a week.
