Citgo Begins Leadership Transition

The new president and CEO of Citgo Petroleum Corporation and chairman of its board of directors, Alejandro Granado, has arrived at the company’s headquarters here to begin the transition from outgoing president and CEO Félix Rodríguez.

“I am meeting with Félix and other senior staff members to ensure a smooth transition with no impact on Citgo’s day-to-day operations,” said Granado. “Our customers will continue to receive the excellent service for which Citgo is known.”

Granado was manager of process technology at Citgo’s Lemont Refinery in the late 1990s. Additionally, for the past two years, he has been chairman of Citgo’s board of directors and will continue to hold this position concurrently with that of president and CEO. His board experience has allowed him to gain in-depth knowledge about the company’s operations, projects, and all of the other key aspects of the business.

“Citgo has accomplished much during the past two years and my challenge now will be to build upon those achievements. As the company’s new president and CEO, I am looking forward to being there for our customers, business partners, employees and shareholder at every turn.”

Citgo, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, refined waxes, asphalt and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
