City, Centennial Commission to Dedicate Art

The City of Tulsa, in partnership with the Oklahoma Centennial Commission and the Creek Nation, will dedicate new artwork in the Creek Stickball Park tomorrow at 11 a.m.

The park, at 1800 S. Cheyenne Ave., is located directly across from the Creek Council Oak Park, 1750 S. Cheyenne Ave.

A gift to Tulsa from the Oklahoma Centennial Commemoration Commission, the artwork created by sculptor Sandra Van Zandt features three Native American youths playing stickball. Stickball is a traditional game with ceremonial significance in Native American culture.
