City, County Agree on Jail Terms

The City of Tulsa, Tulsa County and the Tulsa County Criminal Justice Authority agree to terms regarding the basis on which the City may house municipal prisoners at the David L Moss correctional center.
It is expected that a definitive agreement will be executed by June 1. While the process of negotiating a new contract between the parties has been difficult, all parties are pleased that the negotiation process has been successful.
“I am pleased to work jointly with Commissioner Smaligo in the spirit of cooperation to reach a solution that prioritizes public safety,” said Mayor Taylor, who announced the lawsuit against the County had been dismissed, without prejudice.
Commissioner Jon Smaligo said, “I am glad to join the Mayor in this agreement which I believe will serve the taxpayers of Tulsa County well for many years.”
