Community Bank Names Harmon Chairman of Board

The Board of Directors of Community Bank and Trust elected Wesley M. Harmon chairman of the board, effective March 1.
Harmon joined Community Bank and Trust, based at 2420 Southwest Blvd., as vice president of lending when he moved to Tulsa in 1985. He became manager of the loan department and senior vice president in 1987.
Harmon was promoted to executive vice president and named to the board of directors in 1992. In 2001, he was named president of the bank.
“I am looking forward to new challenges and opportunities as chairman of the board with a special emphasis on the highest level of professional and personal banking service possible for our many valued customers,” Harmon said. “We have an excellent group of dedicated board members, friendly well-trained staff and the most loyal customer base any bank could hope for.”
Harmon is a graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark., and started his banking career in his hometown of Clinton, Ark. He is also a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU, Dallas.
Community Bank and Trust, originally chartered in 1917 as West Tulsa State Bank, has three branches in Tulsa. The bank had $158.2 million in assets as of Dec. 31, 2006.
