Cox Accelerates Internet

Cox Communications said its High Speed Internet Preferred and Premier customers in Tulsa and Oklahoma City will experience an increase in their Internet speeds at the beginning of October.
The speeds will increase from 12 Mbps to 13 Mbps with PowerBoost and the speeds for Cox High Speed Internet Premier will increase from 20 Mbps to 25 Mbps with PowerBoost.
Customers will receive the enhancement at no additional charge.
“This is the sixth consecutive year that Cox has increased their Internet speeds,” said Christine Martin, director of Communications. “We know that our customers spend a lot of time online, so supplying them with fast Internet speeds is very important. We are excited to fulfill our customer’s needs and offer them the fastest Internet in Oklahoma.”
PowerBoost is a speed enhancement technology that gives a burst of speed when a customer downloads/uploads a large file like music, movies, graphics, games and more. PowerBoost is completely automatic and triggered when downloading or uploading a large file.
The technology can only be delivered by cable companies and cannot be used with DSL.
