DMI Coming to Tulsa, Will Hire 450

DMI Industries, a North Dakota-based steel manufacturer, plans to open a production facility in Tulsa. The 500,000-SF plant will employ up to 450 and will open in 2008.
The plant will be the largest manufacturing site for DMI, which employs 140 at a site near Fort Erie, Ont. and 350 at its West Fargo headquarters.
According to a company release, the plant will provide DMI the capability to produce and deliver off-shore wind towers, which are larger than land-based towers.
DMI is heavy steel manufacturer with a focus in wind tower fabrication. DMI is an operating subsidiary of the publicly traded Otter Tail Corporation (NASDAQ: OTTR).
Aside from wind tower production, DMI also produces equipment for ethanol production; oil and gas extraction, processing and refining; and waste water processing.
