Dinosaurs invade BOK center

“Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular” is a live theatrical show based on an award-winning British Broadcasting Company television series and will be roaring into Tulsa’s BOK Center Jan. 28 through Feb. 1.
The show consists of 15 dinosaurs, all life-size and made to look as realistic as possible. Five of the dinosaurs are suits worn by actors and 10, man-made machines, weigh 1.6 tons a piece and require a team of three people to operate.
A paleontologist by the name of Huxley will guide the audience on a 200 million-year journey, describing the lives and events of dinosaurs.
The show, which premiered in Australia in 2007, is brought to North American audiences by The Creature Production Company, headed by chief executive Carmen Pavlovic.
“In this production, 15 roaring, snarling, ‘live’ dinosaurs mesmerize the audience – and are as awe-inspiring as when they first walked the earth,” said Pavlovic. “It’s a $20 million arena spectacle of unprecedented size and quality, which captivates young and old alike.”
The show is a family affair, intended for all ages. Thus far, Walking with Dinosaurs has sold out arenas all over the country and generated $90 million in ticket sales. Tickets to Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular are $25-32 and are on sale now at bokcenter.com.
