Ewing Takes Home Tulsey Award

Blake Ewing, owner of Joe Momma’s Pizza, is named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Tulsey Awards.
Also on Thursday, Ewing marked the first anniversary of opening his restaurant downtown, at 112 S. Elgin Ave.
Award winners announced at an Oscar-like ceremony at Cain’s Ballroom, 423 N. Main were voted by the public online in the weeks leading up to the ceremony.

In addition to winning the Tulsey in the restaurateur category, Ewing won Entrepreneur of the Year for receiving the most votes overall, 1,200.
The Tulsey Awards are a spin-off of the Mayor’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, a business model contest that awards cash prizes to emerging entrepreneurs.
The Tulsey winners were awarded with a golden bronze Driller statuette to recognize their entrepreneurial spirit. Sponsors of the 2009 Tulseys were Tulsa Tech, Tulsa Community College, University of Tulsa, the Tulsa Metro Chamber and the Lobeck Taylor Foundation.
