Forbes Ranks SemGroup Fifth-Largest Private Company

SemGroup LP has been ranked No. 5 on Forbes 2006 list of America’s largest private companies.
A Tulsa-based midstream energy business, SemGroup is the only privately owned Oklahoma-headquartered company ranked in the magazine’s top 25.
It debuted on the list as No. 14 in 2004 and was ranked No. 9 last year.
Forbes’ list includes 394 companies, all of which have at least $1 billion in annual revenue.
SemGroup’s 2006 position is based on its 2005 year-end revenues of $20.17 billion, up 60.4 percent from the prior year.
Since the company’s founding in 2000, SemGroup has completed 45 acquisitions, and its total assets exceed $4.2 billion. It has more than 34.1 million barrels of owned and/or leased storage and has multiple projects in progress to increase that number. The list is featured in the magazine’s Nov. 27 issue.
