Golf Clap

Tulsa’s LPGA tour stop, the SemGroup Championship presented by John Q. Hammons, reported record attendance again this year, despite three days of rain and the absence of some of golf’s biggest names.
The 54-hole tournament, hosted annually by Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow, brought in 78,000 fans — an 8.3 percent increase over attendance last year when 72,000 fans passed through the turnstiles, said Doug Eibling, tournament director.
That success has tournament officials discussing the possibility of expanding next year’s edition of the SemGroup Championship to 72 holes.
Mi Hyun Kim won this year’s SemGroup Championship in a Sunday one-hole playoff with Juli Inkster.
