Google to Build $600 Million ‘Server Farm’ in Pryor

Google has announced that it will build a $600 million data center at Mid-America Industrial Park in Pryor. The Internet company plans to hire about 100 people in the next few months and will eventually employ 200 at the site.
The facility will offer support to the company’s online services.
The company plans to establish a presence by converting an existing warehouse on an 800-acre property into a “server farm.” The company claims they will eventually construct a second building on the site.
The online company plans to open the facility in the summer of 2008.
Google, which was founded in 1998 and employs over 10,000 worldwide, generated $10.6 billion in total revenue in 2006.
