Holliday Purchases Lafarge Sand Business

Holliday Sand & Gravel Co. acquires the assets of Lafarge North America’s Tulsa sand business.
The acquisition enhances Holliday’s market presence in the Tulsa sand dredging market while providing significant long-term sand and gravel reserves.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Holliday is a leading sand and gravel producer in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. The company began operations in 1943 in Holliday, Kan., and has cultivated a stable and loyal customer base. Today, Holliday operates nine sand and gravel plants with a workforce of about 130. Ash Grove Cement Co. purchased Holliday 13 months ago.
A longtime leader in the cement manufacturing industry, Overland Park-based Ash Grove operates eight cement plants and two cement import terminals serving markets primarily west of the Mississippi river.
Ash Grove was founded 127 years ago and is the largest American-owned cement manufacturer in the U.S.
