Memory Walks take place in more than 600 communities across the United States. This year, more than 200,000 participants and volunteers are expected to participate nationwide.
Tom Kivisto, SemGroup CEO and president, and his wife, Julie, are honorary chairs of Tulsa’s 14th-annual Memory Walk.
“The Alzheimer’s Association is extremely thankful for the Kivisto Family Foundation’s generous support of this year’s Memory Walk,” said Paul Langston, senior director of special events for the Alzheimer’s Association Oklahoma/Arkansas chapter. “This kind of support is what makes the important services we provide possible.”
Memory Walk began in 1989 and has since raised more than $200 million for programs and services. The money raised from the event will fund programs that assist local families through various services such as Volunteer Respite, Helpline, Safe Return, Support Groups, Maintain the Brain and more.
