League Lauds LaFortune

The League of Women Voters honored former Mayor Robert J. LaFortune with its 2007 Pathfinder Award at its Annual Gala Fundraiser April 26.
This award recognizes those individuals who lead the way, improving the civic and cultural life of Tulsa.
LaFortune served as mayor from 1970-1978.
He was Commissioner of Streets and Public Property from 1964-1970 and serves on the boards of Bank of Oklahoma Financial Corp. and Apco Argentina Inc.
He also serves on the Executive Board National Council and Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Philbrook Museum Executive Committee and the Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust
He is chairman of the St. John Health System, a member of the Metropolitan Human Services Commission of Tulsa and an honorary life member of Tulsa Area United Way.
LaFortune attended the University of Tulsa and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in chemical engineering.
