Bob Mulkey, owner and president of Regal Car Sales, recently was honored as the 2007 Oklahoma Quality Dealer by the Oklahoma Independent Automobile Dealers Association.
Mulkey was recognized for his involvement in the organization since 1991 and his commitment to raising standards for licensed used car dealers. He served on the Oklahoma IADA board of directors as vice president from 1993 to 1995.
In winning the state award, Mulkey is now a finalist for the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association’s National Quality Dealer Award. The winner will be announced at the NIADA’s National Quality Dealer Award’s banquet on June 16 in Nashville. Founded in 1946, the NIADA has more than 20,000 members nationwide.
Mulkey currently serves on the Used Motor Vehicle and Parts Commission Ad Hoc Research Committee, on which he considers both consumers and dealerships to make sure they are fairly represented in transactions.
Regal has 83 full-time employees in 10 dealerships – eight of them in Oklahoma. Last year, Regal sold more than 3,200 vehicles with gross sales of about $35.5 million.
