Tulsa-based Nordam Group is tripling the size of its workshop in Changi North, Singapore.
The $28 million move is aimed at using Singapore’s status as a global aviation hub in meeting growing demand for third-party aircraft maintenance. The company plans to use the facility to produce jet parts for Asian aircraft makers.
According to Nordam officials, the expanded site will allow the company to do “manufacturing offload” for Nordam’s Tulsa manufacturing operation and to further prospect Asia for business opportunities.
Nordam expects to hire 140 additional employees for the new facility, which is due to be completed in July next year. Operations at the existing site have nearly doubled over the last four years.
