Oklahoma Governor’s Business Award Goes to Aramark Employee

Joseph ‘Gene’ Luker, Aramark Facility Services Manager at the Zeledyne Ford Glass Plant in Tulsa, wins the Oklahoma Governor’s Disability Employment Award.
Luker is recognized in the Business Award category and receives the accolade for providing opportunities to people with disabilities.
“I am honored to be recognized by the Governor’s Office and to represent Aramark,” Luker said. ”When I have an open position, I hire employees based on how well they can perform the required duties. At the glass plant, I need reliable workers. I have found that if you give someone the opportunity to work, and provide direction and encouragement, that person becomes a dedicated employee who performs the jobs impeccably.”
In its 23rd year, the Governor’s Disability Employment Awards honor those who have gone out of their way to support people with disabilities in the business arena. Luker was nominated by the BIOS Corp., an Oklahoma-based company, which provides residential and vocational support for people with developmental disabilities and their families.
