The Society of Marketing Professional Services hosted the fourth annual SMPS Oklahoma Marketing Achievement Awards at a recent gala hosted in Tulsa at Wallace Engineers’ new office in the historic Brady District.
Former SMPS national President and Director/CEO of Solutions for RedCarpet Creations Inc., Andrea Fitch of Washington D.C., hosted this year’s event and presented the awards to all the winners. Oklahoma SMPS president Chris Rickman, CPSM who is a principal with the Oklahoma City based structural engineering firm Zahl-Ford, Inc. said, “This awards program is unique in that it is the only program that highlights the best marketing practices for those companies that provide services in the built environment and because it features companies throughout Oklahoma.”
The awards are given to honor excellence in marketing communications and are open to both SMPS members and non-members to showcase architectural, engineering and construction firms’ best marketing pieces in a variety of categories. All submissions were judged by the Austin chapter of SMPS.
The first-place winners were: C.H. Guersney & Co. for Company Overview Brochure; SPARKS for best Special Events Material; Flintco Companies, Inc. for best Holiday Piece; Flintco Companies, Inc. for best Newsletter; SPARKS for best Direct Mail Campaign; Flintco Companies, Inc. and Frankfurt Short Bruza tied for best Web site; Flintco, Inc. won for best Specific Project Marketing; Wallace Engineering won an honorable Honorable mention Mention in the direct mail category; SPARKS for the People’s Choice Award for Special Events Materials.
SMPS was created in 1973 by professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources and work together to create business opportunities. Today, the association has a membership of 5,800 marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada.
