The official poster artwork for the 2006 PSO Christmas Parade of Lights will be unveiled on Monday, November 13th at 10:00 a.m. in the Braves Council Room at Public Service Company of Oklahoma, located on 6th Street between Cincinnati and Detroit.
The 2006 poster artist is Matthew Moffett, a self-taught artist that paints for the love of painting. Raised in California, Oklahoma and Spain, Matt started to paint when one of his dogs died of a sudden aneurism and he wanted to commemorate his companion. To date, Moffett has painted more than 1,200 pet portraits all over the U.S. and in several European countries. Moffett has been painting and showing his art for 6 years, and has branched out to painting landscapes and cityscapes along with the pet portraits.
“When I was asked to create the 2006 PSO Parade of Lights poster I was very honored!” said Moffett. “I immediately thought of how there is an excitement again about our downtown area in Tulsa, so I decided to evoke a nostalgic, 1950’s Christmas store window at the department store Brown Dunkin.”
The posters will be available after the unveiling at the offices of Downtown Tulsa Unlimited, located at 321 S. Boston Ave., Suite 101. Posters are a free gift to the community from Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
After the unveiling, poster artist Matt Moffett will be available for poster signing and refreshments will be served.
