PSO Christmas Parade of Lights announces Miss America 2006 Jennifer Berry as Grand Marshal

Downtown Tulsa Unlimited and Public Service Company of Oklahoma is proud to announce that Miss America 2006 Jennifer Berry will serve as the Grand Marshal in the PSO Christmas Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 9th at 6:00 p.m. Jennifer Berry, a Jenks graduate who participated in the parade last year as Miss Oklahoma, is currently on a national speaking tour promoting the Miss America Organization and her platform of Building Intolerance to Drunk Driving and Underage Drinking. As a spokesperson for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and an aspiring teacher, Jennifer has spent her year of service working towards increasing awareness and community action towards her platform.

“We are extremely honored to have Miss America serve as grand marshal for our parade,” said Heather Pingry, DTU’s Director of Promotions and Communications. “Jennifer Berry is an excellent representative of our community, and is working relentlessly to eliminate drunk driving and underage drinking. We are also fortunate to have PSO as the presenting sponsor of the parade for the 17th year. Thanks to their consistent involvement, we are able to have a hometown star serve as our grand marshal.”

For more information regarding the parade, and for parade applications (which are due Friday, October 13th), please call Downtown Tulsa Unlimited at 918-583-2617.
