Parker Plastics Expanding Facilities

Sand Springs manufacturer Parker Plastics Inc., makers of plastic containers for food and light industrial materials, is expanding.
Permits cleared this month for a $1.16 million, 33,000-SF addition to its current facilities, 101 S. Woodland Dr., Sand Springs.
The addition will be constructed with concrete floors, steel walls and 20-foot ceilings. Brewer Construction Co. is handling construction.
The company hopes to move into the new building in September.
“The addition will initially be used for additional warehouse space, and looking ahead we will probably use about a third of it to expand our manufacturing operations,” said Parker general manager Chuck Major.
The project has long been in the works.
“We’ve had it on the radar for about two years now,” Major said. “We’re running more and more bottles and bigger bottles. When we’re pumping out product full speed ahead, we need somewhere to keep them while they wait to ship.”
Parker plastics, which has been in business since 1988, moved into its current location in 1995. Major said the company already expanded the facility once in 2000.
“The is a maturation of a lot of effort on behalf of both our sales and production staffs,” he said. “Hopefully we’ll have to expand again in the future as our operations expand.”
