Plaza Del Sol Officially Breaks Ground

Ground has officially been broken on the $10 million Plaza Del Sol Shopping Center at the 101st Street and Mingo Road. Blue Heron Development Company, with principals Doug Collins, Glenn Wright and Scott Thomas are leading the development of the project.
The center, situated on about 8 acres on the northeastern corner of the intersection, will contain 46,553 SF of Class A retail space in addition to a 40,200 SF. corner out-parcel. A 6,000 SF outdoor center plaza will feature a fountain, fireplaces and entertainment staging arena. The California mission style architecture design will include 2 upscale restaurants spaces adjoining the Plaza with outdoor seating areas.
Mark Thomas, with Architects Collective, is the architect, Joseph Watt is the engineer and Concept Two Construction Company will serve as general contractor for the project, which is expected to be substantially complete in February 2009. Construction financing is being provided by Arvest Bank.
Collins & Associates Inc., a commercial property management company of which Collins in the president, will manage the property upon completion. Bob Reppe, of Walman Commercial Real Estate Services, is the leasing agent for the project. Presently over 50 percent of the available space is committed for leasing.
The current committed tenant mix includes a new upscale restaurant by one of Tulsa’s leading restaurateurs’, a coffee house, gourmet fresh foods market, tanning salon, nail boutique, a wine & spirits store, cleaner’s, and hair salon. Other pending prospects include more restaurants, a health spa, gift shop and a women’s fashion apparel store.
