Regent Capital Corp. Purchases Regent Bank

Regent Capital Corp. purchased Regent Bank and Trust Co. of Nowata, effective March 31.
Sean Kouplen is CEO of Regent Bank and Dow Hughes, chairman. All Regent Bank employees were retained with Monte Linihan serving as chief credit officer and Randall W. Wimmer continuing as chief financial officer. Derek Duncan serves as director of business banking.
“I can’t wait to see the kind of growth and opportunities that the new owners will bring to Regent Bank and the community,” said former Chairman BC Lee. “Regent Bank’s executive team members have all distinguished themselves as premier bankers, and we believe they are the right people to take Regent Bank to the next level.”
The Regent Bank board of directors includes Kouplen, Hughes, Chuck Patterson, Tom Wenrick, Bobby Nelson, Robert Zoellner and Tony Young of Tulsa; Bob Willis, Darrel Fry and BC Lee of Nowata; Garry Robinson of Springfield, Mo. and Dean Hughes of Carmen, Okla.
Regent Bank has operated in Nowata County since 1898. The Bank has assets of more than $100 million and employs 45 in the Nowata and South Coffeyville areas.
Regent Bank has experienced a 46 percent increase in loans and a 32 percent increase in deposits since the purchase was announced in August 2007. As part of the purchase, Regent Capital Corp. will add $3 million of additional capital to Regent Bank in order to support anticipated growth.
