Downtown living just got affordable, according to Paul Wheeler, owner and broker of Accent Realtors. The company announced today that it is leasing one- and two-bedroom apartments in the renovated complex Breckenridge Lofts at 215 W. Fairview in downtown Tulsa.
An open house is planned for 2 – 4 p.m. this Saturday.
The apartment complex is undergoing major renovations since it was purchased by Tulsa physician Michael Newnam at the beginning of the year, Wheeler said. Ten lofts are already complete and ready for lease. The other 13 units are currently under construction and are slated to be completed by the end of the year.
“These apartments offer Tulsans an opportunity to live downtown in a safe environment for a fraction of the cost of the current residential options,” said Lisa Grimes, listing manager for Accent Realtors. “We have secure access at the front and rear of the building, as well as enhanced outdoor lighting.”
Space in the complex will be priced at a special rate of $375 for a one-bedroom and $450 for a two-bedroom, but only for the first 10 apartments that are already renovated and ready for move-in, Grimes said.
“You can’t beat that price downtown for space like this,” Grimes said. “This is a great opportunity for young professionals who work or play downtown to live here too and be able to afford it.”
The property was built in 1930 and most recently served as a Section 8 housing facility. Located in the historic Brady Heights neighborhood, the property has a Tulsa Transit bus stop and is just blocks from the central business district.
“Many professionals who work downtown are looking for a more urban lifestyle,” Grimes said. “They want to walk or bike to work, and be able to have public transportation after late nights in the entertainment district.”
The complex features 406-square-foot one-bedroom apartments and 562- to 761-square-foot two-bedroom apartments, as well as a commons area. Each apartment is receiving new flooring, carpet and interior paint, said Grimes.
Accent Realtors is leasing the first 10 completed spaces immediately and pre-leasing the other units. All leases signed on Saturday will be eligible for a special of $199 which includes deposit and first month rent, said Grimes.
