Rib Crib Golf Tournament Raises $23,000 to Benefit American Cancer Society

The Rib Crib Corporation raised $23,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society at its fourth annual golf invitational June 19 at The Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow.

More than 136 golfers from across the state participated in this year’s event, which kicked off with a 10 a.m. shotgun start followed by an all-you-can-eat barbecue lunch donated by Rib Crib BBQ & Grill.

“The money raised from this event is used for education, advocacy, research and service,” said Rene Beezley, regional director for the American Cancer Society. “Every dollar from the tournament benefits a cancer patient or survivor.”

“Cancer has affected almost each and every one of us,” added Bret Chandler, CEO and president of Rib Crib Corporation. “This tournament is just another way we can join together in the effort to help fight this disease.”

This year’s sponsors included presenting sponsor The F&M Bank & Trust Co., The Holmes Organisation, Dr. Pepper, Sara Lee, Smalley Equipment, Principal Financial, Tyson Foods, Merrill Lynch and Cox Business Services. Beverages were donated by Coors Light, Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper. Golfers competed for a hole-in-one prize – a 2007 Cadillac Escalade – provided by Lake Country Chevrolet.
