Saint Francis Owns Hospital Site

The air is clear: The property occupied by Saint Francis Broken Arrow at 3000 S. Elm Place is actually owned by the hospital, and has been since 1987.
The Tulsa County assessor’s office incorrectly notes the Broken Arrow Hospital Authority as the owner of this property. According to Borken Arrow City Beth Anne Wilkening, Tulsa-based Saint Francis Health System is working to correct the record.
The authority was established in May 1974 for the Broken Arrow Medical Center and was assumed by Saint Francis Hospital in the late 1990s.
This year, Saint Francis moved its in-patient and emergency room functions to 91st Street, east of Hwy. 169, leaving the laboratory, imaging and acute care services at the site.
That move – and the belief the property was still owned by the BAHA – prompted some to suggest the city take back the property and let another medical provider occupy it.
St. John Health System has announced its intention to build a hospital within Broken Arrow city limits, but has not yet revealed its location.
