Sand Springs ECC Building Approved

Sand Spring School Board of Education members have voted to proceed with plans to build a new early childhood center at 81st Street and Park Road.
The board agreed to proceed with scaled-back plans, financed mostly with $3.5 million provided by the City of Sand Springs.
To start the construction process, the board voted to hire the architecture firm Kinslow, Keith, and Todd Inc., 2021 S. Lewis Ave., Ste. 150, for architectural services and Sand Springs-based Meshek and Associates, 20 W. Second St., Ste. 200, for stormwater and hydrology engineering.
The 17,000-SF facility, which is estimated to cost between $3.5 and $4.5 million, is expected to open in August 2009.
The board authorized district officials to proceed with plans to obtain title from the Sand Springs Home, which has offered the 18-acre site to the district.
The City of Sand Springs has agreed to purchase the present ECC building at State Highway 97 and Morrow Road for $3.5 million to add the property to the River City Crossing development project.
