Site Annexation Expected

The last obstacle in making the Oklahoma Military Department’s Armed Forces Reserve Center truly Broken Arrow’s is being addressed by city councilors.
A proposed ordinance was reviewed, annexing the property on the south side of the Muskogee Turnpike at the northeast corner of New Orleans Street and Midway Road, the site of the soon-to-be constructed ARFC.
Police, fire and zoning services will be extended on the date of annexation, which is expected to be at the next Broken Arrow City Council meeting Nov. 18.
There are no residences in the outlined property, Keith Sterling, director of communications at the city, told the Broken Arrow Ledger.
When complete, the $50-plus million AFRC will employ about sixty.
