Smith Named OIPA Vice President

The Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association names Avery Smith vice president of business development.
Smith, an Ada native, spent much of his professional career in Phoenix before relocating to Broken Arrow in 2006.
Smith’s primary duties at the OIPA will be to promote the benefits of OIPA membership to the oil and natural gas industry in Oklahoma and beyond.
“We’re pleased to have Avery join our staff,” said John Pilkington, OIPA chairman and an independent producer from Tulsa. “The OIPA is this state’s leading advocate for the crude oil and natural gas industry, and we are confident Avery will build on our previous successes.”
Prior to joining the OIPA, Smith served as the vice president of sales and marketing for an international chain of family entertainment centers. His responsibilities included overseeing a national sales team in addition to the company’s marketing and graphic design departments.
