Sparks Cos. Inc., the architecture and engineering firm based in Tulsa, announced Friday that it would merge with Rogers, Ark.-based Crafton Tull & Associates.
The merger, which the companies expect to complete within 60 days, will create a firm called Crafton Tull Sparks & Associates Inc. Crafton Tull has about 250 employees, while Sparks has about 70, according to Shannon Morris, Crafton Tull’s marketing director.
Tom Hopper, president of Crafton Tull, will be president of the combined company, and Gary Sparks, president of Sparks Cos., will become a principal and member of the board of directors.
The firm will have offices in Rogers, Little Rock, Russellville, Oklahoma City and Tulsa (where both currently have offices).
“This merger will make us the largest, full-service engineering and architecture consulting firm in the state of Arkansas and positions us for growth across the country,” Hopper said in a new release.
Sparks was founded in Tulsa was founded by Gary Sparks in Tulsa, OK, in 1986. Crafton Tull dates to 1963.
