Sullivan Honored with Friend of the Wildcatter Award

The Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association honored Tulsa Congressman John Sullivan with its “2008 Friend of the Wildcatter” award for his service to Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry.
The award recognizes Sullivan for voting consistently in the 110th Congress to grow the economy, protect Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry jobs and increase domestic exploration and production.
As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Sullivan continually worked toward a comprehensive national energy policy, which includes decreasing our dependence on foreign oil and increasing refining capacity in the U.S.
Roughly 60,000 Oklahomans work directly in energy related jobs, including thousands in the Tulsa area, with the industry supporting indirectly an additional 186,000 jobs.
