TU Expo to Encourage Women-Owned Businesses

The Women’s Entrepreneurial Expo will take place March 4, 2007, from 1-5pm at the University of Tulsa’s Great Hall in the Allen Chapman Activity Center. The University of Tulsa chapter of Students in Free Enterprise, or SIFE, will host the event.
Over fifty women-owned businesses are taking part as exhibitors and featured speakers include Yvonne Hovell, owner of East Tulsa Dodge, John Blue of the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center and Rose Washington Rentie of the Tulsa Economic Development Corporation.
According to the Center for Women’s Business Research, 87,851 privately held, majority women-owned firms in Oklahoma generate more than $10 billion in sales and employ 102,025 people.
The expo is free and open to the public. Information on starting a business, taking a current business to the next level and networking opportunities will be available for attendees.
