TU Names Director of Business Career Development

Caroline Franklin is named Director of Business Career Development at the Collins College of Business at the University of Tulsa.
In the newly created position, Franklin serves as a liaison between the College and the corporate community, while providing students with a wide variety of job preparation services such as critiquing resumes, identifying internship opportunities and conducting mock interviews.
“In today’s increasingly competitive employment market, college graduates trying to land a dream job need stellar grades, internship-loaded resumes and a polished appearance,” said Franklin, who has more than a decade of career services experience. “I’m really sort of a broker between companies looking for good employees and students looking for the right position.”
Franklin’s relationships with hiring managers at dozens of companies such as Williams, Hilti, U.S. Cellular and ConocoPhillips helps graduates get a foot in the door. Similarly, Franklin assists companies in attracting high-caliber students by keeping companies up-to-date on internship requirements and current needs of the College. Her office is in the Williams Student Services Center, which opened in fall 2008 in a partnership between Tulsa-based energy giant Williams and the Collins College of Business. The undergraduate and graduate academic and career advising center is located on the second floor of Helmerich Hall at The University of Tulsa.
Prior to joining TU, Franklin led the Academic Advising and Career Exploration Department at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan., and holds a masters degree in college student personnel with an emphasis in counseling from Kansas State University.
