The Molpus Woodlands Group Acquires 44,379 Oklahoma Acres

The Molpus Woodlands Group, LLC, a timberland investment management organization, headquartered in Jackson, Miss., has completed the purchase of approximately 44,379 acres of timberland located in LeFlore and Pushmataha Counties in southeastern Oklahoma on behalf of an institutional investor. The transaction closed on January 25, 2007.

The Molpus Woodlands Group acquires and manages timberland as an investment vehicle for corporate and public retirement systems, insurance companies, university endowments, foundations and private investors.

This purchase increases the Molpus Woodlands Group’s current acreage under management for clients to a total of 567,000 acres located in seven states.

The Molpus Woodlands Group has been actively involved in the timberland investment management business since 1996, and its affiliated company, The Molpus Company, has been in the timber business since 1905. MWG and its sister operating companies employ 60 people in their nine offices located in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana , Oklahoma and Texas.
