Tronox Inc. has accepted the recommendation of CEO Tom Adams to remain headquartered in Oklahoma City.
The company was a subsidiary of Kerr-McGee until September of 2005. It employs 300 in Oklahoma, 2,110 worldwide and operates service laboratories in Germany and Australia.
Tronox was founded in 1964 as a chemical division of Kerr-McGee and operated as such until it split from the company in September of 2005.
Tronox’ former parent company was recently purchased by Houston-based Anadarko Petroleum for $18 billion. The deal was approved by Kerr-McGee share holders on August 10.
