Tulsa Banker Honored for Work at OBA School

Mark Stephen, of Arvest Bank in Tulsa, has been named an “Honors Graduate” of the 2007 Oklahoma Bankers Association Intermediate School.
Stephen will receive a plaque at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Arvest Bank located at 4301 S. Garnett. Kelly Nemecek, Intermediate School Chairman, will present the award.
Stephen was selected for the Intermediate School honor based on his outstanding work on the school’s exam and his contributions and participation in class. He was chosen by the school’s regents, staff, faculty and students.
Stephen was among 21 students who attended the school at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. The OBA Intermediate School, conducted annually, prepares junior to mid-level bank officers, and future officers, to serve effectively the needs of their banks and consumers. The school exposes students to a broad range of banking functions and issues, including: economics, marketing, lending, investments, trust services, compliance and legal issues, bank financial analysis, ethics, human resource management, communications, strategic planning, regulatory examinations and asset/liability management.
The OBA conducts more than 70 educational programs and seminars each year for the state banking community. The Association represents approximately 280 banks across the state, supporting the industry with a broad array of services including government relations, education, legal services and communications.
